Emilia Clarke and nudity
Emilia Clarke is one actress that has a no nudity clause in a contract however to play the role of the Daenerys Targaryen, the mother of dragons she had no choice but to go for nudity.
Emilia Clarke said it was just a wonderful, strong moments that she wanted to own. It was a real empowering girl power kind of scene.
Adding that “I was so thrilled with it. it’s not a sexy scene, she’s not naked for no reason, it’s not greater shows she’s naked because she just destroyed her enemies in this almighty blaze after they underestimated her- how could I say no?”
Lena Headey and the walk of shame
Lena Headey is playing the character of Cersei Lannister, and during the finale of season 5, she had to atone for our sins by walking on the streets completely naked, while someone shouted shame as she walked.
However, at the time, the scene was shot Lionel was pregnant so a body double had to be used for that scene.
According to her during an interview with entertainment weekly “I’ve done nudity I’m not averse to it but I know I’m a very emotional actor and I get really driven by that”. she went for that to add that “the thought of being naked for 3 days and trying to contain her in the way she would be I think I would feel very hungry I didn’t want to be angry.”
Cersei and Bronn
If you are a serious game of thrones fan and you have been following it from the very first season, you would realise that Cersei and Bronn never shared a scene together.
The reason for this is that Jerome Flynn and Lena Headey were once in a relationship that lasted for quite a long time. And after their relationship ended, both of them were not on the best of terms. Having them out on the same scene would not have been healthy for work.
Jon and Daenerys
Ever since the game of throne first premiered people have wanted Jon and Daenerys to have a very romantic relationship. However, for the actor and actress who played these characters, the reverse was the case.
in an interview with vanity fair Harrington shared that ” if you’ve known someone for as long as six years and their best friends with your wife and you are also best friends with them, there is something strange and unnatural about doing a love scene with the same person.”
Doran Martell
Alexander siding who played the role of Doran Martell in the game of thrones, shared with startech.com that he felt there was something wrong about that because he had previously been contracted for four episodes of the following season.
So if he was going to get killed at the end of the last season, why did they have to contract him for four episodes.
Talking about why he thought he had to get killed later, he said “there was an enormous amount of fun and excitement when I got named to be on the show, and everybody was like ‘oh my god yes Doran Martell, he is going to be great as Doran Martell.’
That just might have been the kiss of death, maybe the products just didn’t want quite that much attention on my character, or perhaps I just screwed up somewhere, maybe I said or did something wrong to the wrong person.”
Sophie Turner
Sophie Turner was only 13 years old when she got the role of Sansa Stark. The teenager first learnt about sex on the show. It was quite a strange way to get sex education as a teenager said ” the first time I ever found out about oral sex was from reading the script. I was 13.
I said, wow! People do that that’s what anything I’ve been doing a read through, and we’ll be talking about very graphic stuff I guess that was my sex education is on the game of thrones”.
Arya and the hound
Arya is no doubt one of the most dominating female characters on the game of thrones. A lot of fans are so in love with the partnership between the hound and Arya and also Rory McCann who plays the role of the hand has talked about his working dynamics with Arya stark played by Maisie Williams.
The hound said “Maisie is just such an amazing actress very clever very bright she knows typically everything she’s a real help to me because I’m a bit goofy and a bit that I forget where I am in the story, and she knows my lines my story where we are what’s going on the reason we are there I get in trouble by pulling faces and she keeps me in check.”
Iwan Rheon wanted so bad to be Jon Snow
Iwan Rheon was the actor who played the role of the ruthless Ramsay Bolton. However, the actor actually went for the audition to get the part of Jon Snow. Iwan said “I audition for the pilot of the game of thrones and was down to the last two for Jon Snow.
Ramsey is the complete opposite, and somewhere in my mind I secretly thought I was Ramsey. One thing we can all agree on is that Ramsay Bolton is the character that suits him best.
Joffrey
Joffrey is my favourite character of them all, and I’m sure he’s a lot of people’s favourite character because somehow it turns out to be the most savage of them all.
Joffrey Baratheon was played by Jack Gleeson and what the actor wanted to do was to show some vulnerability that the character might have possessed “I also try to find the most sympathetic side of Joffrey it’s quite a tiny side and not one that people might necessarily see but there was that side he was insecure he also wanted a stable family environment, and he needed to be loved I enjoyed playing that character and the crazy psychopathic stuff too”.
Peter Dinklage
The role of Tyrion Lannister was played by Peter Dinklage the dwarf. According to the actor, the role was essential to him because the character was not one that came out as some caricature of a dwarf.
Tyron Lannister said “I love the lord of the rings as movie and books, but just like elves dwarves are represented as a different kind of creature.
In those stories, they are not humans” he went further to share that “we don’t have elves walking around in real life, but we do have dwarfs like myself.
We are real, so it’s nice to be humanised in fiction for once especially in this movie George RR Martin was clever enough to make a dwarf a fully fleshed out human being.”
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau
Jaime Lannister is a very complicated character he has three kids with his twin sister Cersei, and he is nothing close to being the father of the year.
However, costa has talked about how we did not let his real-life children watch this show. According to him, work is work, and it shouldn’t be something to sit down with his family and enjoy.
He just feels it will be weird for his kids to see their father pretend to be someone he is not on television. It is also not cool to see your father making out with another woman even if it’s just a movie.
Petyr Baelish
It just has to be one thing with this character; you either love him or hate him. Aidan Gillen who’s the actor that played Petyr Baelish has shared how he was able to approach the role.
He said that first he had to think of the character as some kind of magician or a politician who thinks of himself as a magician.
So whenever he is leaning in when he speaks sometimes, it is just because he wants the other person to hear him correctly and also because he wants to see the person he is talking to very closely.
