When it comes to home of some of the cheapest budget devices, forget China and hail India. The sub-continent has quite a few OEMs trying to attract the ever growing mobile savvy users, and as such offering incredible low prices on a few smartphones. The latest of this smartphone is Freedom 251 from Ringing Bells.
The Freedom 251 is an Android-powered smartphone produced in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for “empowering India to the last person, transforming India’s growth story.” The device carries a price tag of INR 251, which translates into just under $4 at current exchange rates.
On the specifications angle, you a 4.0″ qHD display smartphone with a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz on each core. There’s also a 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal memory on board. There’s a memory card slot to expand the internal with up to 32GB via a microSD memroy card.
Looking for details about the Freedom 251 camera?, we hear the device will pack a 3.2MP shooter at the back as it’s main camera, and a 0.3MP snapper in front for selfies. Worthy of note is the fact that the Freedom 251 device runs on the recent Google Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. Other details available so far are; a 1,450mAh battery to power the device, and a series of connectivity options including 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, and GPS. Color options available include white, black.
