Actress Asia Argento had denied the claims of sexual assault made against her by Jimmy Bennett which was published in the New York Times. However, TMZ has shared and alleged SMS that the actress sent to a friend of hers in which she admitted to having sex with her accuser while he was still a minor.
Just last Sunday, the New York Times published a report that claimed Asia Argento was willing to pay Bennett the sum of $380,000 after he accused the actress of sexual battery in a notice sent by Bennett’s lawyer where he made clear his intention to sue Asia back in 2017. The New York Times had obtained the document via an email from an unidentified person.
TMZ claims that the actress sent the text message to a friend after the New York Times published the report. The text allegedly read “I had sex with him it felt weird. I didn’t know he was a minor until the shakedown letter.” TMZ also posted a photo of the accused and the accuser resting their heads on a pillow topless. According to the New York Times, the actress had told Bennett to take of picture of them after they had sex. TMZ claims the unknown friend texted the actress back asking about “the photo taken in bed” and she replied, “You can see my tits. That’s all. It doesn’t mean sh-t.” The actress allegedly added,
“He is standing up.”
According to the report of Asia’s allegation given by New York Times, Jimmy had visited the Actress’s hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton in Marina del Ray, Calif with a relative on the 9th of may in the year 2013. Argento then asked the relative that brought Jimmy to her hotel room to excuse them. The actress gave Benneth who was 17years old at the time, an alcoholic beverage to consume. The actress then “kissed him, pushed him back on the bed, removed his pants and performed oral sex.” Asia then allegedly “climbed on top of him and the two had intercourse.” But according to TMZ, the actress texted her friend “the horny kid jumped me.”
However, TMZ also released a photo of something Jimmy wrote on a piece of hotel stationery at that time. The note read “Asia, I love you with all my heart, So glad we met again, and I’m so glad you’re in my life. Jimmy.” The actress allegedly sent a picture of the note to her unidentified friend and added: “He wrote me this afterwards and kept sending me unsolicited nudes all these years up until two weeks before attorneys letter.” The actress allegedly added that “It wasn’t raped, but I was frozen. He was on top of me. After, he told me I had been his sexual fantasy since was 12.”
However, it is believed that Jimmy was under California’s legal age of consent as at when they allegedly had sex.
The New York Times reported that Jimmy requested for $3.5 million in damages for “intentional infliction of emotional distress, lost wages, assault and battery.” According to the article, Bennett claimed that he suffered from a trauma afterwards that led to him making below $60,000 as opposed to the $2.7 million or more that he made in the five years before the incident.
However, The actress agreed to pay Bennett a total of $380,000 over a year and a half, and she allegedly made an initial payment of $200,000 in April.
Asia claimed that the accusation was far from accurate “I have never had any sexual relationship with Bennett.” She, however, insisted that she was only “linked to him during several years by friendship only.” But she said the friendship ended just after the “exposure in the Weinstein case.”
Furthermore, Argento claimed that Jimmy ran into some money problems and had gone as far as taking “legal actions against his own family requesting millions in damages.” She then allegedly claimed he “unexpectedly made an exorbitant request of money from me.”
She went further to say “Bennett knew my boyfriend, Anthony Bourdain, was a man of great perceived wealth and had his reputation as a beloved public figure to protect,” Asia continued. “Anthony insisted the matter be handled privately, and this was also what Bennett wanted. Anthony was afraid of the possible negative publicity that such person, whom he considered dangerous, could have brought upon us. We decided to deal compassionately with Bennett’s demand for help and to give it to him. Anthony personally undertook to help Bennett economically, on the condition that we would no longer suffer any further intrusions in our life.”
TMZ also claims the actress texted her friend that “If I lose my job I will move to Africa or the Amazon forest, I want to be among the 90% of the world that doesn’t give a f–k about this sh-t. Not the convincing, sick 10% of the entitles westerners.” We await verification and confirmation that the text messages are real, but until then, we hope that the actress figures out how the best way to handle the issue confronting her.
