Ariana Grande takes a break from the spotlight to mourn Mac Miller

Ariana Grande may have moved on to a new relationship with Pete Davidson after her breakup with late Mac Miller, but that isn’t stopping her from taking a break from the Hollywood spotlight after the rapper’s death.

Last night at the 2018 Emmy’s fans was on the lookout for Ariana and Pete Davidson at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. However, for some reason, the “Dangerous woman” singer didn’t show up.

Last week was activity full for the couple as seat cards featuring Ariana and Pete floated on Twitter. Also, Saturday Night Live got nominated for multiple awards, and yes they ended up winning real big.

We already got heads up that the couple might not appear before the show, so it wasn’t much of a surprise for some pop culture fans.

“Contrary to reports, Ariana will not be attending the Emmys tonight,” the singer’s team shared with People. “Pete has also opted not to attend to be with her in New York.”

Ariana’s team statement continued “Given the events of the past couple of years, Ariana is going to take some much needed time to heal and mend. She will be staying close to home and using this period to spend time with her loved ones and work on new music without a deadline. She thanks her fans for their understanding.”

Yesterday’s award night came almost 10days after the demise of Mac Miller who Ariana Grande dated for about two years before they split earlier this year. The 26-year-old died of an apparent overdose and is yet to be laid to rest.

“I adored you from the day I met you when I was nineteen and I always will. I can’t believe you aren’t here anymore. I really can’t wrap my head around it. We talked about this. So many times. I’m so mad, and I’m so sad, I don’t know what to do. You were my dearest friend. For so long. Above anything else,” Grande wrote on Instagram last week when breaking her silence on the unexpected passing. “I’m so sorry I couldn’t fix or take your pain away. I really wanted to. The kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. I hope you’re okay now. rest.”
