Black Friday: Stage Is Set For Konga, Jumia Stiff Competition

Black Friday, your yearly Christmas shopping spree is coming again on 27th of November, and Nigeria’s most popular e-commerce sites would be battling for the most sales as customary of them. While 2014 saw a stiff competition and overall tipping to Konga’s side after a very busy yakata day (see some info-graphics below), 2015 Jumia Black Friday and Konga Yakata sales will face an even stiffer competition.

Nigerian shoppers will be going for the cheapest products available, and the most steady site with little or no downtime (Jumia is notorious for suffering such malfunctions, hopefully, severs are all readied before the 27th of November, which is the big day).

Let’s take you down memory line, here’s a sneak peak of how the 2014 Konga Fall Yakata day played out as released by the e-commerce giant.

Jumia so far has released a pictorial representation of what to expect, the kinds of bargain deals to expect during the most exciting rush. See picture below.

While Konga are yet to let us know any specific details, we sure know the giant e-tailer is planning something huge! Taking a cue from last year and last two years Yakata sales which saw PlayStation 4 go on sale for 40,000Naira, android tablets and smartphones worth over 30k sold for 19,000Naira, TVs sold for 20k amongst others, we are definitely keeping a tab for our dear shopKonga.
