When it comes to dishing it out as it is, leave it to Chrissy Teigen to express just what we all are thinking. The author of “The Cravings” cookbook posted some questions on Twitter on Sunday, asking what it means for people to date and “be exclusive”these days.
She and her husband “John Legend,” “have been together for twelve years now and have been happily married for five. Chrissy and John are also blessed with two beautiful kids, Luna and Miles.
In the space of those years, the world has experienced the broth of Bumble, Tinder, Grindr, etc. Hence, the genesis of modern dating.
She wrote on Twitter on Sunday saying, “I haven’t dated for a long, long time but are guys really pulling the ‘let’s be exclusive’ thing six months into dating like what, I have been exclusive what the fuck have you been.”
Needless to say, her tweet immediately gave rise to reactions from her followers as they told their own stories about being or not being “exclusive” with their partners.
A user responded, “I’ve been dating someone for two years. A few weeks ago he said we were ‘casual’ and ‘still getting to know each other.'”
Even comedian Akilah Hughes aired her opinion, “IT’S BAD OUT HERE OKAY.”
A Twitter user labeled Teigen’s message as “the worst John Legend subtweet ever.” Chrissy, however, responded with a laughing emoji and tweeted back, “12 years in and married ‘baby hey, I’m ready to be exclusive.”
The Lip Sync Battle host also commended her followers and fans, as well as the rest of the people channeling through the world in this day and age.
She said, “oh man these stories, I don’t know how you guys are out there dating now. God bless you on your journey.”
Also, In pure Teigen fashion, she made a joke and anecdote about her relationship with the “ordinary people” singer. “I didn’t date much. I moved in with people. like hello, I live here now. this is how John ended up in this situation,” she tweeted.
It appears that their “situation” worked well for them because Teigen and John continue to prove themselves as one of the funniest and most laid back Hollywood power couples, like Beyonce and Jay Z.
The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model posted a picture on Instagram on her fifth year wedding anniversary. The picture was of their wedding day and she captioned it, “12 years ago today, I met the man of my dreams. And 5 years ago today, we got married. We have two babies and some pups and a life I am grateful to have,” she described the day. “My everything, I love you and am so proud of the story we’ve created.” With Chrissy, love is just the coolest thing ever.
