CoolPad Rogue Is a $50 Android 5.1 Lollipop, LTE Device


Could this be the most affordable LTE, and Android Lollipop device ever?

There’s a new budget friendly device in town, made by Chinese smartphone vendor Coolpad, the new ultra budget-friendly smartphone is dubbed Rogue, and it’s priced at just $50. The CoolPad Rogue is going to be available for purchase in the US starting September 30, both online and at T-Mobile stores (thanks to it’s partnership with T-Mobile).

On the specifications angle, Coolpad rogue features a 4.0″ WVGA touchscreen display, and is powered by a Snapdragon processor with a dual-core CPU clocked at 1.1GHz on each core. The device also boasts 1GB RAM and 32GB internal memory ROM, which can be expanded through a microSD slot up to 32GB.

The device supports LTE and favors 2, 4, 12, AWS3 bands. The cameras are however nothing to write home about, with a 2MP camera on it’s rear as it’s main shooter and a VGA in front for selfies. The device however runs a customized version of Android 5.1 Lollipop OS.

Talking of the new device, VP of Coolpad Technologies, Charlie Parke stated, “We are extremely excited that Coolpad can bring our ‘Live Smart’ motto of providing cool technology, easy-to-use interface, affordable prices, and attractive designs to T-Mobile customers”.

The partnership with T-Mobile is the company’s first with a tier-one mobile carrier in the US.
