Ed Sheeran is doing great with his career, but the singer doesn’t seem to be talking marriage the way we want to hear it.
The thinking out loud singer got engaged to his girlfriend Cheery Seaborn in December 2017 and posted about it a month later in January 2018.
The singer posted a photo of him kissing Cheery on the cheek on Instagram and captioned it. “Got me a fiancé just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx,”
In February 2018, Ed Sheeran was seen putting on a ring on his left hand, and people began to think different things. The singer, however, shut down rumours that he had secretly tied the knot.
When asked about the ring on his finger at the red carpet of the 2018 Brit Award, the singer said “I’m not married.
I never saw why men didn’t wear engagement rings. It’s the same commitment either way. Cherry made it for me herself out of silver clay. I really like it.”
Questions about his relationship with Cherry Seaborn resurfaced during a recent interview with Acess Hollywood. The interviewer asks if he had any plans set up for a wedding ceremony while promoting a new documentary about Ed-Sheeran. The singer gently raised up his ring finger and said: “I never do anything too public anyway.”
Sheeran reacted the same way during his Entertainment tonight interview with Keltie Knight. The singer surged when Kaltie talked about his potentially secret wedding. The cover was blown during a question and answer session the singer had on Instagram when a fan asked the singer When’s the wedding?” and Sheeran replied, “Maybe it’s already happened.”
Ed, however, hinted that if indeed he had done a wedding it would be like nothing happened. Ed shared with ET “I don’t like large groups of people at the best of times so, I never wanted a wedding that was lots of people.”
In October 2017, Ed told Radio.com that Cherry Seaborn is “undoubtedly” the perfect one. The singer apparently “always thought I’d end up dating like an actress or something, someone in the industry,” but that wasn’t the case with Cherry Seaborn. “I’m a hometown boy.”
Sheeran took a break from music for a while so that he could travel the world with the woman he loves. According to Ed, that break was a time to fall in love properly. Sheeran explained “So the catalyst of taking a year off was also the fact that my partner quit her job in New York—which she’s now got back in London, which is really cool—but we were just basically like, let’s quit our jobs and have a year of forming a tight bond. So we went travelling and spent every day for a year together,”
Over the years, Ed has been a very supportive partner as he takes out time to watch his girl play hockey.
Cherry is a well to do financial consultant on weekdays, and by the weekend, she’s a hockey player.
Ed confessed to having written the song “Perfect” about Cherry, and we can’t help but gush over the adoration.
One of the sweetest lines he crooned in his song is “Now I know I have met an angel in person / And she looks perfect.”
According to the singer, the song “perfect” was inspired, but a night he spent with Cherry at James Blunt’s house “We were in Ibiza listening to Future’s ‘March Madness’ literally not wearing any shoes and going mental on the lawn,” Ed said. Thus, the words “Baby, I’m dancing in the dark with you between my arms / Barefoot on the grass, listening to our favourite song.”
During a radio interview with Lowe, Ed had said he was eager to become a father. “I wanted to be a dad, like, last year. I’m ready, let’s go—tour bus babies, little fat, chubby babies that just walk around.”
One thing every man seeks from a partner is love and peace, and it appears that everything is falling in place for Ed. He shared with the radio host during the interview that “I’ve never been happier. I’ve never been more comfortable. I’ve never been more inspired. I feel like everything’s fallen into place, and it’s fallen into place because I’ve given it the time to fall into place.”
Congratulations Ed Sheeran!
