Google Glass Review: All You Need to Know About the Google Glass Enterprise Edition
The Google Glass is an optical head-mounted developed by X, formerly known Google X. it is designed in the form of eyeglasses, but do not be fooled; the Google glass is anything but mere eyeglasses. This invention is a ubiquitous computer; the glass displays any information like your mobile device format. The user communicates with the internet through a natural voice command. Just like a cool sci-fi movie, isn’t it?
On April 15, 2013, Google sold the prototype of this invention for a limited period, for $1500 to selected buyers called “Glass Explorers” and it was sold exclusively in the United States. However, it was sold to the general public a year later, but this time the glass had a camera attached to it. The Google Glass was not fully accepted because of privacy and safety concerns. Google stopped manufacturing the glass prototype and assured the public that the Google glass would reopen for sale in 2017. True to their word, in July 2017, the product named Google Glass Enterprise Edition was open for interested buyers to purchase.
How to set it up
To set up your Google glass press the round power button for about a second, the white light behind will turn on and remain lit while glass starts up. You will know the Google Glass is turned on when the display is lit, and you see the glass logo.

Google Glass Review
Undoubtedly, the Google glass is pricey, although it is a revolutionary of this century; is it worth the price? Let’s take a look, shall we?
As a Video camera
The video camera may not be the best feature of the Google Glass Enterprise Edition; the battery’s lifespan is short, the image quality is average due to the small angle lens, and the operability is not user-friendly compare to other cheaper camera in the market. If you are paying $1500 for it, at least the video camera should be top of the charts. The timeframe of the device cannot capture half of any event and with the low quality, may put a damp in your favorite memories.
As an in-vehicle camera
Google glass as an in-vehicle camera is better than the above feature, probably because it is plugged in and the battery will not be a problem. However, it cannot record continuously what happens around you. If you bought the glass for recording your day-2-day activities, you would be disappointed. Nonetheless, it seems promising; with the right software, the device in this category will improve.
As a ride tracker
The glass depends on the GPS sensor of your phone to operate efficiently. Taking the glass out on the run may not be a great idea because it is not water resistant; the sweat from your head may ruin the bone-conduction speaker or power button.
As a headset
If you are super ticklish around your head, the Google glass may not be suitable for you; the bone speakers vibrate and tickle and may cause long conversation uncomfortable or awkward. The sound quality is okay, but it can easily be distorted; for a $1500 device, it could have been better. The newly included earbud makes it bulkier to carry; the glass alone is cumbersome and cannot be folded in your pocket. If Google can work on this aspect of the invention, it will be less stressful for the user to carry.
As a hands-free smartphone controller
This feature is pretty awesome; the ability to control important features of your phone without looking or touching your phone is a nice. This feature alerts and enables you to read instant messages. It also allows you to respond to these messages as well as create new instant messages through voice recognition. This is a reliable feature, and it deserves big thumbs up. However, you cannot create emails from scratch, but the joy of getting messages in the new slide timeline and responding to pop up instant messages without touching your glass is fantastic!
As a navigator device
This feature is okay to use, may not be 100 percent reliable; it does the same job as other cheaper navigator devices, but it can come in handy in a case of emergency. You can use as a backup navigator device and not the main one. For instance, if your car’s navigator device ever malfunctions, the Google Glass can be used temporarily.
As a music streaming device
The Google Glass Enterprise Edition provides yet another amazing feature; it gains easy access to Google Music, and with completely hands-free operation via voice-activated searches. However, there are few lapses in this feature; the audio is poor, and it does not fully search songs on Google music. Once again, for a device like the Google glass, it would have been better.
The Google Glass Enterprise Edition is exciting, and it proves that the tech world is changing rapidly and positively. This device has a lot to offer, and it is not quite there yet. The battery life seriously needs improvement, the device comes with a high price, and it doesn’t merit an “A” in any of the functionalities.
