0

Innjoo Mobile, which according to the start-up stands for “Internet Journey” is an OEM producing coy into mobile phone (smartphones) production and just recently, Innjoo hover boards. The company started out small but has so far achieved tremendous success in their field of expertise – affordable, budget smartphone productions. Innjoo first launched into mobile production sometime February 2014 and so far has sold over 1.4million smartphones which of course is a fascinating record, being that the company is only present in a few countries including Nigeria, Spain, and South Africa.

Innjoo has been a fan favourite in Nigeria, after it’s i1s smartphone which was a 1GB RAM device on a 5.0″ screen was sold for just 14,000Naira bringing in the cheapest, budget, ‘high-spec’ device to the masses. Since then, Innjoo has been on a rage! Starting the era of pre-orders in Nigeria with the Innjoo One 3G HD which did well during it’s pre-order period and sold about 3000 devices.

Not Fire Pro, Not Max… Innjoo Fire Plus and Halo

The Innjoo launch event proper which took place at University of Lagos, Main Auditorium yesterday 2nd of September was one to remember. We got to see two new devices – Innjoo Fire Plus and Innjoo Halo. We are guessing that the Fire Pro would not be coming to Nigeria however. But, the fire plus is a very cool swap for the much awaited upgrade for the hot selling Innjoo Fire.

…ties to S6 Edge

As it stands, Innjoo Fire Plus is the company’s current flagship device. The device features a 5.5″ 720 HD IPS display with resolutions of 720 x 1280. The fireplus is just 5.7mm thick, which doesn’t match the World’s thinnest phone but is sure to give the device that sleek, premium look. Aside that, Innjoo Fire plus has an octa-core CPU on a 64-bit architecture. There are two LED-flash at the back accompanying the 13MP f/2 aperture main shooter, the selfie camera is a 5MP shooter. There’s 2GB of RAM and 16GB ROM with a massive storage option up to 128GB, talk about a leap!

The Fire Plus look an feel strikes you as that of Samsung’s current flagship, the Galaxy S6 Edge based on it’s curved edges and the body design (only major difference is the position of the LED flash, which went under the camera on the Fire Plus).

The fire plus is tagging along with a better battery compared to Innjoo’s current flagship – Innjoo One 3G HD. The fire plus features a 3600mAh battery which supports rapid charge, and gets the battery completely charged in just 2hours. The Innjoo Fire Plus is also and LTE enabled device (or has a variant that is – sorry I wasn’t too attentive then 😉 but I would update it as soon I get an official clarification.)

Innjoo Halo on the other hand is not ‘specs-studded’ but for it’s price, it’s a beast!. Bringing with it a 1GB RAM on a 5.0″ capacitive touch screen, 3G High speed internet access of course, and a hefty 3200 Li-Polymer battery, you are promised 15 hours of non-stop phone calls or 300hours of active stand-by. Aside that, the Innjoo Halo features a beautiful Kevlar textured back, which of course means the device is stronger than Nokia 3310. There are dual camers just as there are dual SIMs. The cameras are 5MP main snapper and 2MP selfie shooter respectively.

The internals of the Innjoo Halo include a Quad-core CPU, Android 5.1 Lollipop which there’s no word on upgrade to marshmallow 6.0 yet, the memory details include a 1GB RAM as stated earlier as well as 8GB ROM with a memory card space allowing for expansion up to 32GB.

P.S: Both the Innjoo Fire Plus and the Innjoo Halo have removeable batteries! Which is a big plus for Innjoo.
