Every mother cannot end up looking all strong just a few hours post-partum body. Some will look as healthy and happy as Kate Middleton while some others might have to take as much rest as they should and make a post-partum debut later. Keira Knightley wasn’t entirely pleased about Kate Middleton’s post-partum look after she gave birth to Princess Charlotte.
Scarlet Curtis recently published a book titled Feminists don’t wear pink (And other lies). The Hollywood actress wrote a letter to her three-year-old kid, Edie. In the written note which she titled the weaker sex, Keira made a comparison of how she looked after the birth of her kid with how Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge looked hours after the birth of Princess Charlotte.
33-years old Knightly wrote: “She was out of hospital seven hours later with her face made up and high heels on. The face the world wants to see. Hide. Hide our pain, our bodies splitting, our breasts leaking, our hormones raging. Look beautiful, look stylish, don’t show your battleground, Kate.”
The morning after 36-years old Middleton gave birth to her daughter with Prince Williams, she and her husband stepped out of the hospital so the press could get the first shots of their little princess.
Kate was dressed in a yellow floral shift gown, with high heels and makeup, and she had her hair smoothed and nicely styled. The video from the moment went live both in her home country and in other places around the globe.
“Seven hours after your fight with life and death, seven hours after your body breaks open, and bloody, screaming life comes out. Don’t show. Don’t tell,” Knightley wrote. “Stand there with your girl and be shot by a pack of male photographers. This stuff is easy. It happens every day. What’s the big deal? So does death, you s–t-heads, but you don’t have to pretend that’s easy.”
Prince Williams and Kate also debuted their eldest child, Prince George, who is now 5-years old, and their youngest son Prince Louis, who is now 5-months old, in the same way, and Kate made sure to look just as healthy and happy on both occasions.
Knightley added in the letter how loved ones came visiting her and the then newborn. According to the actress, she was dressed in a hospital gown and had on paper pants because she was still bleeding from childbirth. Knightly recalled how her body was exposed, showing her cellulite as she got up to attend to her baby when she heard her cry.
“My breast is out in front of them all, and I don’t care,” Knightly wrote. “Your life is my life. You need me. I’m there. F–k them all with their eyes watching, their embarrassed faces at my animalistic semi-nudity. Is this soft motherhood?”
Keira talked about how sleep eluded her during her stay in the clinic adding how she went home with her baby the day after she was born and finally had a bath.
“My shoes are crusted and sticky with the amniotic fluid of yesterday, they smell. I remember the s–t, the vomit, the blood, the stitches,” Knightley said. “I remember my battleground, your battleground and life pulsating. Surviving. And I am the weaker sex? You are?”
