Finally Microsoft Windows10 is Here
Few hours ago Microsoft released the most anticipated Windows10 OS to the world; windows10 will be available for free upgrade in 190 countries according to this blog post from Microsoft.
The free upgrade is available to genuine Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 PCs and tablets users, there are rumors that those with pirated copies of windows 7 and 8 might receive the free upgrade but it will be watermarked and some pop up reminder that you are using a pirated copy. You can read more about this on Engadget.com.
So after so many hours of thinking and asking questions if am going to lose my files or not, I finally made the upgrade (sorry no success message).
How to Upgrade to Windows10
There is nothing much to do (in my case), all you have to do is click on the windows10 tray on your notification bar or go to windows update page and search for the update. You will be notified of the update if you are eligible, then you can start the process of downloading.
Below are screenshot of the process I took, after downloading 2.7GB of file..
1. After download is complete wait for the Preparing to Install process to complete too, then the below will pop up just click on the accept button.
2. Wait for this process to complete, so as to make your pc set for what is coming
2. Now you are ready to install windows10 on your laptop, all you have to do is start the installation process and then wait for it to complete. This process takes close to an hour so be patient.
Depending on your network it might take some time before the download is complete and you will be guided throughout the process, make sure you have an active data subscription. let me know in the comment box your plight during the process.
