Oppo are unto the next one in the quest for a diversified R7 series. The Chinese coy has so far released three in the range of phones, the main R7 runner which features a 5 inch screen, a larger phablet dubbed R7 Plus with 6-inches screen and a budget friendly R7 Lite. Their latest addition to this line-up could be R7s, though the name is still yet to authoritatively finalized.
The upcoming R7s would feature a 5.5-inch display according to a listing on Chinese regulations site – TENAA. The display is expected to be a FullHD AMOLED display.
TENAA’s listing doesn’t however provide us with all the needed tidbits, so we are expecting to see a 3GB RAM device as is customary to the R7 range of devices (except the budget friedly R7 light which came with a lower 2GB of RAM as expected), while the internal storage (ROM) is pegged at 32GB though expandable via a microSD card. The R7s would be running on an octa-core CPU clocked at 1.5GHz on each core. There’s no telling what processor would be powering the CPU, but there’s a big chance we would be seeing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset, owing to previous working relations with other R7 variants.
Cameras on board the R7s would include a 13MP which is accompanied by an LED flash as it’s main shooter (rear), while the front is adorned by an 8MP camera. Not a bad camera combo. Oppo R7s is an Android powered device of course and runs the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS.
As it stands, other key details including the battery capacity are missing from the Chinese regulation authority’s listing page. The Oppo R7s is however expected to be coming in two versions.
We would be waiting for an official detailing and subsequently update you on the upcoming Oppo R7s.
