Barely last week after we were teased with an Oppo R19 smartphone that features almost everything indisplay including the camera, and now it seems Samsung has joined the race to deliver a true notch free device.
On Wednesday at the Galaxy A9s and Galaxy A6s launch in China, Samsung teased a new device called the Galaxy A8s, and the device looks like Samsung’s first all-screen design.
While the images released by Samsung showed no notch, seasoned Chinese Leakster Ice Universe (who leaked the Oppo R9) revealed that the A8s would have a hole drilled into the display to accommodate the front camera.
Samsung has been working on transparent displays and in display speakers so it wouldn’t be hard to them achieve the feat.
Aside from the in display camera, Samsung is also working on bringing its gaming phones, foldable devices and UFS 3.0 memory technology to the market in 2019.
While Samsung has not revealed any specifications and Iceverse has taken the pictures down, it doesn’t change anything as the A8s can be the game changer for Samsung. Let us keep our fingers crossed.
