Samsung’s Tizen OS was launched in 2012, but today, only a handful of smartphones, all of them from Samsung, run the OS platform. The series of smartphones created to cater for this OS is the Samsung Z series which includes the Z1, Z2, the Z3 that was released in October 2015, and would soon include the Samsung Z4.
The Samsung Z4 has been certified by the FCC, and this brings some of the specifications of the smartphone to sight. A user manual of the device has also been released on the official Samsung India support website, so we have a handful of the Z4’s specs to talk about.
These two events show that the Z4 would be released soon, and speculations abound that it will be launched in this second quarter of 2017. In this article, we talk about the specs of the smartphone we have right now.
Samsung Z4 Expected Specifications
From the images we have, I dare say that the Samsung Z4 will come with a 5.5-inch display with an HD (1280 * 720) or Full HD (1920 * 1080) pixel resolution. The display technology will most certainly be AMOLED since it’s primarily made by Samsung.
The physical home button that has come to be associated with Samsung phones is present below the Z4’s display, with capacitive navigation buttons flanking it on either side.
We don’t know anything about the quality of the phone’s front and back cameras, but we do know that they will be accompanied by dual LED flash on both sides. A loudspeaker grill is present below the rear camera module, which is quite odd as I haven’t seen such placement on a smartphone before.
The Samsung Z4 packs a removable 2050mAh battery and has a dual SIM slot with support for internal storage extension via a microSD slot.
On the software side, the Samsung Z4 will run on Samsung’s Tizen OS.
