Tecno Phantom 7 and Phantom 7 Plus: What to expect from the next Phantom flagships
The annual November Black Friday event for 2017 is closing in on us, and for diehard fans and lovers of Tecno smartphones, this could only mean one thing; the ghosts are coming! Okay, not ghosts literally, but it’s getting closer to that period in the year when the Apple of Africa, Tecno Mobile launches the yearly iteration of its Tecno Phantom series of smartphones, and as usual, the Tecno Phantom 7 and Phantom 7 Plus are expected this year.
Now, nothing has been said officially concerning the 2017 Phantom smartphones and we don’t even know if there will be a Plus version, but as the techies that we are, we can’t hold off discussing them, and rumours are already flying around the tech mill as to what features the Phantom 7 and Phantom 7+ will come with this time.
Therefore, you can go on to take this post with a pinch of salt, but if these specifications eventually come with the Phantom devices, don’t say I didn’t tell you o.
Tecno Phantom 7 and Phantom 7 Plus Expected Specifications
Whether you like it or not, security is an essential aspect of something that is used for most of a human being’s day like a smartphone, and Tecno is not handling it with kid’s gloves at all this time. In addition to the already-common fingerprint scanner, there are rumours that the Phantom 7 and Phantom 7+ will come with an iris scanner and voice recognition technology for unlocking the smartphone.
If these features eventually make it into the final build of the Tecno Phantom smartphones, they will be rubbing shoulders with flagship smartphones like the Galaxy Note 8, and the company will most likely gain more of their consumers’ trust since it would appear that they are very concerned with the safety of their phones.
Talking of fingerprint scanners, things might change position in this year’s Tecno Phantom smartphones. The fingerprint sensors in previous versions have always been placed on the rear panels of the smartphones, but there are rumours that the Tecno Phantom 7 and Phantom 7 Plus will come with a physical home button with the fingerprint scanner embedded inside it.
Thanks to the highly-successful Tecno Camon series, when you mention Tecno to some people, what they hear is Camera. The Tecno Phantom 7 and Phantom 7 Plus are expected to take things to the next level in this category with a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 20MP primary camera and 16MP secondary camera.
It’s not the dual camera setup that’s new here as the Phantom 6 Plus has 13MP + 5MP dual rear cameras, but the quality of the cameras would be one not seen on an Africa-focused smartphone before, if this rumour turns out to be true, that is.
I don’t get easily excited when smartphones from brands like Tecno, Infinix and Itel are being discussed, but just the rumours of the upcoming Tecno Phantom 7 & 7+ have my heart doing a dangerous 120 on the highway of my mind. This has got to be true.
