Every year hundreds of new movies are released, and out of the hundreds, there are some that are always highly anticipated like those from our favourite marvel universe franchise. However, there are some movies that some have not to do well in box offices even though they have all it takes to find themselves among the top film of the year.
So if you’re a movie enthusiast like myself and all you do in your free time is watch movies, then the movies below are some of the best that were released in 2019 but did not get as much hype as they deserve.
One thing I have come to realise about movies that do not get as much publicity as they deserve is that amongst them are some of the best storylines you can ever come across. this is one reason why you do not have to look down on them but watch anyone that is prescribed by a trusted movie lover.
Even though the movies below have been categorised as the most under dissipated once in 2019, i am sure that by the time you’re done watching them you would want to have a re-watch as many times as possible.
Paddleton is a comedy-drama movie that tells the story of two neighbours after a sick one was diagnosed with a terminal stomach cancer. Ray Romano and Mark Duplass played the two lead roles. The film premiered at the 2019 Sundance film festival and has now been made available on Netflix. It is surprising how this movie did not get good reviews, but fans loved it which means it deserves a chance with you.
2. High flying bird
The incredible thing about this film is that it was entirely filmed on an iPhone. And if you must know this is not the first movie that has been shot in this manner by movie director Steven Soderbergh. If your a sports lover this sporting drama is one that you will find interesting.
It is about which of the three choices made available to sports agent Ray Burke (which was played by Andre Holland) will produce. This sports agent would have to choose between his commitment to a football client, an opportunity to question everything people know about the NBA, and a chance that comes once in a lifetime to move up the ladder of his career. I am a huge fan of basketball, so I am going to give this movie a try ( I already have).
Greta is a fantastic movie; one that falls into the category of psychological thrillers. This film first premiered at the Toronto international film festival back in September 2018 but its theatrical premiere held on the 1st of March 2019. The movie is about to young Frances (played by Chloe Grace Moretz), and the new friendship she developed with a French piano teacher called Gerta played by (Isabelle Huppert).
In the movie, Isabel had recently lost her mother, so she decided to begin a new friendship with the lonely widow. Nevertheless, when Frances noticed that is Greta had become obsessed with her, she chose to protect herself by breaking up the friendship with Greta before things begin to take a turn for the worse. This movie is one that’ll keep you glued to your seat till its over.
4. Fighting with my family
Laughter they say is the best medicine which is why you need to watch this biographical sports comedy-drama. The story illustrates the career of a professional wrestler Saraya Paige knight (Florence Pugh).
Paige’s life is described in this movie from a young age to a competitive training program that forces her to fight to prove her worth to get a spot as part of the WWE universe. This film is based on a 2012 documentary titled The wrestlers: fighting with my family.
5. The breaker-uppers
When you talk about romantic comedy, this is one film that you definitely should see. In this film will be taken on a journey with two cynical friends named Mel played by (Madeleine Sami) and Jen (Jackie van Beek) who decided to set up an agency to break up couples while they try to avoid their own troubles.
Amazingly both new Zealand actresses who took on the lead roles in this movie were the same people who wrote and directed the film.
6. Ruben Brandt, Collector
Ruben Brandt, Collector, is a Hungarian cartoon that was directed by Milorad Krstic. This animated movie is worth watching mainly because it will take you on a journey of one cycle therapist named Ruben Brandt which was voiced by Ivan Kamaras.
This psychotherapist how to become a painting thief as he begins to steal a total of 13 paintings to stop the nightmares that were inspired by famous works of art that have been hurting him ever since his childhood years.
