But when he found out her age, he was awestruck.
Asides the exercise part, Halle gives us a peek into some of the foods she munches on daily to stay fit and healthy. The actress said on a show called Live! With Kelly and Ryan “I eat healthy fats all day long, avocado, oil, coconut oil and I use butter, but don’t have any sugar. So when your body gets trained to burn fats, it’s constantly on fat-burning mode—that’s the secret,” meaning that she uses fat to burn off fat.
Here’s how Keto works
While eating regular foods increases your intake of carbs and allows your body to burn these carbs for energy, keto diet will enable you to take in more fat and minimal carbs so your body can burn off fat as its fuel or energy. With a ketogenic diet, 60-75% of the calories you burn come from fat, another 15-30% calories are generated from protein, and only 5- 10% calories are generated from carbs.
When your cells don’t find enough carbs to burn for energy, they start to produce organic compounds or ketones and uses the fats you have in your body for fuel. This is called a state of ketosis, and it happens between two to seven days of starting the food regime.
It might interest you to know that the keto diet plan wasn’t initially targeted at helping people burn fat to lose weight, It was meant to help people with seizure issues. However, people who were into keto dieting soon found out that it helped them shed some excess weight without having to do so much exercise and that was how keto began to gain recognition around the world.
