Desmond Olushola Elliot was born on the 4th February,1974, in Lagos, the western region of Nigeria. Desmond father hails from Olowogbowo, Lagos State, while his mother comes from Illah, Oshimili North, Delta State Nigeria.

This parent’s state of origin caused him to call himself a Pan African.

Desmond childhood days were in the Northern part of Nigeria where he grew up with his parents and siblings. He completed his primary education at the Air Force Primary school, Jos.

There he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate. He later furthered his secondary education at St John’s College, Jos. Desmond Elliot passion for knowledge drove him to the tertiary institution. He obtained a B.Sc. degree in Economics from the Lagos State University in 2003.

Desmond was convinced by a friend to become an actor. His friend convinced him that acting will suit his personality. This encouragement prompted him to start playing roles in soap operas such as; Everyday People, One Too Much and Saints and Sinners.

He is known to be one of Nigerian movie industry leading actors. He has starred in over two hundred movies including Men Who Cheat, Yahoo Millionaire, Atlanta and Ekaette. However, In 2008 Elliot co-produced and co-directed the movie “Reloaded” which received 3 nominations at the African Movie Academy Awards in 2009.

Elliot is involved in public relations for great network called Globacom. Most of Desmond movies includes; Falling (2015), Black Val (2015), The Department (2015), When Love Happens (2014), 30 Days in Atlanta (2014), Kamara’s Tree (2013), Kiss and Tell (2011), I’ll Take My Chances (2011), Bursting Out (2010), Holding Hope (2010), Nollywood Hustlers (2010), and many more.

Desmond Elliot made known his intentions to run for the position in the Lagos State House of Assembly in September 2014. After this declaration, he was chosen to be a contestant under the umbrella of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He was later declared as the winner of the election on the 11th April, 2015. Thus, he became the representative of the Surulere Constituency, House of Assembly, Lagos.

Towards the end of his tenure in office, he contested again for the same position in the 2019 general elections and became the winner. This achievement in his political career is an evidence in one of his quotes “Resilience, persistence, and belief is always the watchword”.

Desmond relationship has been envious by many. He is married to a beautiful woman called Victoria Elliot. He met his wife during the course of acting, although there was no attraction between the two.

This was said to be due to the extrovert personality of Elliot and introvert personality of his wife, but this changed as time went by and they dated for 8 years before marrying.

Due to his faithfulness to his wife, there have been no scandal of infidelity. Their marriage is blessed with four kids. Desmond have been known to be a happy family man who loves his wife( which he ascribes as being understanding and caring) and children dearly.

He celebrated his 15th wedding anniversary with his wife, Victoria Elliot on December 26, 2018 in a grand style.

Desmond Elliot won African Movie Academy Awards prize for best actor in a supporting role in 2006. He also got three nominations at the African Movie Academy Awards in 2009 for the movie “Reloaded” which he co-directed.

Later in 2013 he won another Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) for best actor in a supporting role.

In 2014 Desmond won the best supporting actor in a drama at the Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Award. He obtain a Renaissance award at the Afroglobal Award in 2018.
