Omotola was born on the 7th of February,1978 in Lagos State Nigeria to Mr&Mrs Oluwashola Jalade. She is originally from Ondo state in the western region of Nigeria.

Having being born into a family of five, she is an elder sister to Tayo and Bolaji Jalade (brothers).

Omotola came from a very respectful home who valued education for the female child. She first attended Chrisland School, Opebi from 1981–1987.

She left the school and moved to Oxford Children School in 1987,Santos Layout where she completed her primary education and obtained her First School Leaving Certificate.

Omosexy had admission into Command Secondary School, Kaduna in 1988. After 5 years, which was in 1993 she completed her high school education and obtained her Senior School Certificate. Omotola went ahead to further her tertiary education and went to Obafemi Awolowo University for a brief period of time.

Omotola finally went to Yaba College of Technology from 1996–2004, where she studied Estate Management and obtained its certificate.

After the death of her father in 1991, Omotola had to work to survive and support her family as at age of 15.

She started off as a model, this helped her family as it contributed to the family’s financial status. After a while, Omotola began to have passion for acting, as she accompanied a friend to an audition.

Omotola began to go for auditions as a teenager despite the fact of her mother’s disapproval of the side hustle. Omosexy was forbade by her mother from acting but finally changed her mind.

This due to the persuasive nature and begging of a film director Reginald Ebere and the whole movie crew. In 1995, a star broke forth as Omotola was starred in the movie ” Venom of Justice” which was directed by Reginald Ebere.

She was given the lead role, this lead role was the stepping stone to her amazing and successful career as a Nollywood actress. Immediately after starring in Venom of Justice, Omotola got a major role in Omotola got her in film Mortal Inheritance in 1995.

In the movie, she played a sickle-cell carrier who refused to give up on life despite the stacks against her health. Omotola character finally won the battle for survival and gave birth to a healthy baby. This particular movie was is seen as one of the best Nigeria’s movies Nollywood ever produced.

After her act in Mortal Inheritance which got her an award, she has starred in many movies( due to her outstanding acts in previous movies), such as; Games Women Play, Blood Sisters, All My Life, Last Wedding, My Story, The Woman in Me and a host of others.

As the years goes by, Omotola was fast becoming more popularly as she starred in several sequel movies, including Lost Kingdom II, Kosorogun II, and Blood Sister II. By the middle of the year(2000) Omotola had moved into ” A” list status.

After been starred in over 300 video movies, Omosexy in 2010 got her first cinematic movie role in the film “Ije”. This particular movie was shot at different locations in Jos and the United States.”Ije” was the highest rated Nigerian film as 2010 and 2011.

In 2012, Omotola career took another huge leap as she starred in high rated Nollywood movie, Last Flight to Abuja. This movie was the 2nd highest-watched movie in West African cinemas in that year.

In 2015, Omotola marked her 20th anniversary in the entertainment industry via celebration and hosting a party. Aside acting, OmoSexy is also into music and has released her first album in 2005 titled “gba””.

Her album produced the singles “Naija Lowa” and “The Things You Do To Me.” She also has an unreleased second album, she titled “Me, Myself, and Eyes”.

This particular album was produced by Paul Play and Del B. She also had other supportive songs “Feel Alright”, featuring Harrysong, and “Through the Fire”, featuring Uche.

In late 2012, it has been said that Omosexy began working on her third album and sorted the help of The Bridge Entertainment.

She went to Atlanta in order to work together with a few producers and songwriters who could help her create a sound that would come with American audiences.

Apart from that, she also had studio sessions with Kendrick Dean, Drumma Boy and Verse Simmonds and recorded with a song with singer Bobby. All fingers are crossed and anxiously waits for the release of all her songs.

In 2012, Omotola had cameras following her and decided to launched her own reality show, known as Omotola: The Real Me, on Africa Magic Entertainment, on DStv. This made Omosexy to be the first Nigerian celebrity to star in her own reality show.

As a philanthropist, Omosexy serving as a United Nations World Food Programme Ambassador in 2005, went on missions to Sierra- Leone and Liberia.

Omotola also supports organizations such as Charles Odii’s SME100 Africa whose vision is to empower youth and young women in the society having come from a background she did, understands the impact of empowerment.

She has also been active in the Walk the World project and took part in the Walk the World campaign in Liberia together with President Ellen Sir Leaf-Johnson.

Omotola, is known as a warrior of human rights campaigner and her philanthropy works are centred on her NGO project, called the Omotola Youth Empowerment Programme otherwise known as OYEP. The NGO brought hundreds of youths together for the Empowerment Walk and Convention.

In 2011, Omotola became an Amnesty International campaigner in and has taken part in various campaigns in Sierra- Leone against maternal Mortality and her campaign of The Niger Delta in Nigeria against environmental degradation, she even took a video appealing to Shell and the government to own up, clean up, pay up and take responsibility of the Oil spills in the Niger- Delta region.

Omotola is married to Captain Matthew Ekeinde in (1996) before completing her tertiary education. In 2001 the couple had their marriage blessing( white ceremony) in an aircraft while flying from Lagos to Benin in with close family and friends in attendance.

In 2005, Omotola won the Best Supporting Actress during the African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA). In 2011, Omotola won the Ghana Movie Awards for the Best Actress-Africa Collaboration.

In 2012, Omotola won the Eloy Awards for the Actress of the Year for the movie “Ties That Bind”. In that same year, she obtained the Screen Nation Awards for Pan African Best Actresses.
